About vCard QR codes

A vCard code holds a contact card in the standard vCard 3.0 format. When someone scans it, their phone offers to save a new contact with the name, phone number and email you entered. It belongs on business cards, name badges, email signatures and the back of a conference slide.

QRacker encodes the three fields most contact apps show first: full name, phone and email. The code is built in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and nothing is saved between visits.

It is a static code: the content is encoded in the pattern itself, so it never expires, has no scan limit, and needs no account.

Which fields does the code include?

Full name, phone number and email address, in vCard 3.0 format. The name is split into first and last for contact apps that keep them separately.

Why is a vCard code so dense?

A contact card is more text than a web address, so it needs more modules. Print vCard codes a little larger, and keep the fields short, to leave them easy to scan.

Will it work with my phone contacts app?

Yes. vCard is the format contact apps on iPhone and Android already exchange, so the camera app hands the scanned card straight to contacts.
