About event QR codes

An event code holds a calendar entry in the iCalendar format that phone calendars import. Scanning it offers to add the event, with the title and start time filled in, so nobody has to copy a date off a poster. It belongs on invitations, launch announcements, class schedules and tickets.

QRacker encodes the title and the start date and time. Enter the start as 2026-10-02 19:00 and it is converted to the calendar format for you. The code is built in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and nothing is saved between visits.

It is a static code: the content is encoded in the pattern itself, so it never expires, has no scan limit, and needs no account.

Questions

Which time zone does the event use?

The time is encoded as written, with no time zone, so the phone reads it in its own local time. For an in-person event that is what you want.

Can I set an end time or a location?

Not at the moment. The code carries the title and the start. People can add the rest once the event is in their calendar.

What if the date changes?

The code is static, so print a new one. Anyone who already added the event will need the new date separately.
