About phone QR codes

A phone code holds a tel link. Scanning it shows the number and offers to place the call, so the person never has to read digits off a sign and type them. It suits service vans, help desks, estate agent boards and anything else where a call is the next step.

The phone asks before dialling, so scanning never calls anyone by surprise. The code is built in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and nothing is saved between visits.

It is a static code: the content is encoded in the pattern itself, so it never expires, has no scan limit, and needs no account.

Questions

What format should the number be in?

International format with the country code, such as +44 20 7946 0958. Spaces are fine; the phone ignores them when dialling.

Does scanning call straight away?

No. The camera app shows the number and the person taps to call. That confirmation is built into the phone, not the code.

Can one code hold two numbers?

No. A tel link is one number. If you want to offer several ways to reach you, a contact card code holds a phone and an email together.
