About email QR codes

An email code holds a mailto link. When someone scans it, their phone opens a new message with your address already in the To field and, if you set one, the subject line filled in. Put it on a flyer, an invoice, a product insert or a support sticker to make writing to you a one-step action.

The person still writes and sends the message themselves, so nothing is sent without their say. The code is built in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and nothing is saved between visits.

It is a static code: the content is encoded in the pattern itself, so it never expires, has no scan limit, and needs no account.

Questions

Can I prefill the message body?

QRacker fills the address and the subject. Keeping the body empty keeps the code small and lets the person write in their own words.

Which mail app opens?

Whichever one the phone has set as the default. The mailto link is a standard every mail app handles.

Is my email address visible in the code?

Yes. Anyone who scans the code sees the address, the same as if it were printed in text beside it.
